Subf - It is easier to buy a handgun in the US than to buy a mobile phone.

In Europe you simply walk inot one of the ubiquitous stores that sell mobiles and buy a chip ( I foget the generic term) for about $15 pop it in your GSM handset and away you go.

You do not need to give any information whatsoever. As for the security aspects of the US ie it wouldn't be sensible to allow that in the US becuase of security etc well the European $15 GSM chip works just fine in the US although it is expensive to use.

All you need is a tri-band handset and so all the US security controls on that aspect are effectively useless.

The point is that it is so easy to get a phone and start calling. And its not all that much more expensive than a contract.

Best,

L
