I had a cold call six weeks ago from stock broker (funny)
I asked him which were his favorite gold miner stocks
he hemmed and hawed
he cited some sameold sameold techs like Sun and EMC
also a few lesser names I have trouble remembering
I asked which sector has been the leading in performance
he didnt know, and I said it was GOLD, hands down
so I repeated that I would like to know his gold picks
he hemmed and hawed
so I asked if someone put him up to reco'ing these stocks
he gave some lame answer about his office working a strategy now that they are really optimistic about
I asked if his brokerage house (Edwards or Merrill) was selling the very stocks he was recommending
he was taken aback by such a question

I told him I believe most brokerage houses and their bigbank parent companies were gonna get their clocks cleaned this summer and autumn
he was quiet
I said I eagerly await the share holder lawsuits
and asked if his firm had been sued yet
he said "NO, why should we?"

I advised him to seek a different line of work
something that required sales pitches and no depth
I told him to buy gold stocks for his family's account
and finally I told him to GET LOST

by the time we were done, we were both laughing
I made some general vague reference to whores as we parted
