Interesting parallel to Dec. 18 on the Put/call. If I recall correctly, Dec. 16 was a pivot low off the early Dec. high, and we just had a pivot low a couple days ago. We mostly moved sideways after that low in Dec with the last push up into early January. This could end up in a similar fashion with end of month window dressing around the corner. After Labor Day the real traders come back into town to crush the indexes. Right now is vacation time for those types as school starts soon (in some areas near me it starts the 22nd of August).
