*OT* just one more indication why he was one-of-a-kind.

In today's parks (and nutrition, not to mention illegal stuff etc.), and without interuption of service, Williams coulda hit 900-1000 homers in career ng Alex Gonzalez (Texas) is the closest I've seen to Williams....He hits balls out so easy (and many look like mishits), and I don't think he is on the juice (of course, they all take creatine, etc.)

OT/ I remember in the Ken Burns videos, a Ted Williams story that went something like this:

Williams was at bat and the umpire was calling a bit of a tight strike zone. After a few balls, on a pitch that the catcher held there, you know, when they want the call, the catcher tuned back to the umpire and started to complain. The ump responded along the lines of "That'll be enough of that. Besides, Mr. Williams will let you know when it's a strike."

LOL. Was that about Williams?

Gotta run to the city. Cheers
