The only time a minority has determined the fate of this nation is election year, 2000. When does a majority not normally rule?

1 - I meant to say majority. At least a small majority supports taking out Saddam.

2 - A minority would have determined the presidential election whoever won. The last president to win a mjaoirty was Bush Sr.

What wars have we started since WWII that have had Congressional approval?

Define war. In the formal sense of the word we have not had any wars since WWII. In a less formal sense we have moved forces around and sometimes shot at people any number of times without congressional approval. The military operations without congressional approval have mostly been smaller then an operation against Iraq would be but they do happen. Also we moved forces in to Korea before any congressional approval.

"The disintegration of the ROK army so soon after the NKPA invasion alarmed the US JCS with the realization that US involvement seemed inevitable. From a long-held policy of indifference toward Korea, the US suddenly turned its attention to a neglected ally in a potentially explosive situation that required top-level planning. An immediate convening of the UN took place demanding that the North Koreans return north of the 38th parallel. President Truman acted unilaterally without Congressional approval and ordered Douglas MacArthur, Far Eastern Commander in Japan to go to Korea and evaluate the situation. He also ordered air and naval support to the ROK along with an artillery battery. The situation deteriorated rapidly as the NKPA moved southward."

With 3 major wars (major in terms of deployed forces) since WWII one (Korea) was started without formal congressional approval, one (Vietnam) was started with very unspecific congressional approval, and one (Gulf War) was started with congressional approval, but probably would have happened even without it.

Besides who is to say that congress wont approve an attack on Iraq, which in any case may not happen, despite the fact that you are talking about it as if it already had happened.
