The long term is only a series of short terms strung together as you well know. Failure to recognize this in the past has created problems for the future.The only thing to be done now is prepare for the long term. Past mistakes cannot be remedied , only learned from.

My part? Donate money to family planning org.'s pop control org.'s and see to it that I have parented no more that 2 children.

My understanding is that the reason the US does not have the aging population problem is due to immigration. Those of us baby boomers who are worried about social security have a little reprieve because new workers are moving in. We get a few more years of support, they get a better place to live.

Hope we use this bandaid time to make things better for those who come after us.

I plan on continuing to work part-time until I am dead or ga-ga. Most lawyers do, it's a relatively easy gig after you've done it for 20 years and have it down pretty well. I know lawyers who are still handling cases in their seventies.
