FYI-Dell- Supply Chain
-they took a few slams at companies that are outsourcing their supply chains, calling them "higher cost providers"
(its really nice to see a company actually take on these manufacturing challenges, I'm tired of these outsourcing train wrecks)

-also they want to trim-again their per-box logistics costs out of the warehouse. I think the number was 18% additional (which seems high, I need to listen again).

EMC Partnership-
-They are OEM mfg EMC in asia and S america, very cool. Since EMC doesn't have mfg. (are cell phones next?, Dell is the most efficient CM in the world, imo)

close rate- EMC, win rate increased q1->q2, new opps growing 15% qtr/over qtr, revenues EMC grow 65% qtr/qtr

Other-
-unix to Linux conversion is going to rock for dell, they have a new product for the middle tier w/linux+oracle. New hardware, and expensive.

-New flat panel monitors coming next week! (I've been waiting for those)

-analyst asked firming rfp activity for 03? They denied but probably there is something there, imo
