HEY,CJ, HOW YA BEEN? I think the pricing issue is a matter of opinion. My first trek through our new HD I made a point to price some items that I bought across the street at Lowes a week earlier. I had bought 8 6' Werner stepladders for $39 each and they were $48 at HD. Next I priced an extending aluminum plank which I paid $179 for and it was $188 at HD. I mentioned this to a sales person and she said "Well, we'll match Lowes price". I left with the impression that I have to go to Lowes first to get the best price at HD and, to be honest, I don't have the time for all that. I'm sure that someone else could walk in and find the items they are looking for to be cheaper at HD, but that was how it worked out for me. Another incident that comes to mind was when HD delivered a framing package to the job site and screwed up and sent 2x4x8 pine instead of 2x4 spruce studs. The idiot framers dried in the whole house with the lumber that was delivered! What a nightmare! The walls looked like they were made out of hockey sticks within a week!!! Not bashing HD about this as I can tell some horror stories about Lowes deliveries too......nobody's perfect. Bottom line.....2 companies that are going to be around for a long time, and I like to play them both - or the one that's hot at the time. I'll probably jump on HD if it dips to 20 or add some LOW @ 30. cb
