Hey, Mq, we could buy the assets for $1 per company, build out GSM1x in the 800MHz spectrum, which would be half the cost of doing it in 2GHz and it would use the existing sites and backbones and bingo, instant 3G across Europe.

QUALCOMM has invented multimode, multiband ASICs, with radioOne and gpsOne and BREW and all that good cyberphone stuff, which will work on GSM or cdma2000, so people will have total coverage while it rolls out.

BTW Zomby, as the Bloomsberg guy says, you could sue the governments too. It's illegal to form contracts with people who are out of their minds or have big holes in their heads where business analysis and thinking departments normally reside.

< All Europe's governments have achieved is the destruction of value among what were once the continent's most-coveted stocks. They have made the stock market collapse much worse in Europe than in the U.S., damaging their own economies. Instead of just gradually dropping plans to build 3G networks, at least one telecom executive should stand up and tell them so -- and take those governments to court to get their money back. >

Zomby, if you like, you can come and work for us. Can you drive a limousine and do dishes?

Mq, do you think that Bloomberg guy really has a clue what's going on in 3G, because it seems to be really popular where it's being sold already? Look at the growth rate here and check out the cute gadgets they are using: 3gtoday.com
