They extrapolated their superficial success and committed themselves to support this purchase during a retail contraction. They will have to dump it in desperation. I wonder how long it will take before they either take the dump and run or hide the cost over run in the cooking.

Future Shop has always been overstocked and overstaffed by undereducated teenagers telling you about the extended warranty before you've bought the product. Same with Good Guys, an electronic superstore around here. These annoying extended warranties are the norm for that business I guess. The whole electronics buying experience sucks, imo- I know tons of women that won't set foot in good guys or circuit city. When Amazon came up with their electronics store I knew it was going to be a big hit with the reviews right there. Gives you more info than you get in the stores, and no hard sell. I remember the first cc Amazon did with electronics, Bezos said they did double their internal estimates. It was really a testament to the awful alternatives, imo. L
