Most of the link has nothing to do with what we've been discussing, but down near the bottom, he says: "VisiCalc - in the late 1970's, which led to Lotus 1-2-3 and SuperCalc (which Microsoft bought and re-named Excel)" That's the danger of using a search engine, I guess -- weirdness of context. And he very well MIGHT have it wrong, as you suggest. Yet, I do have a vague recollection of hearing somewhere that MSFT bought the basis for Excel. JMHO. Charles Tutt (SM)
