Gottfried, My guess of what AMAT's TA is saying is that a stall at 20 is highly probable, with a retest of the 13-15 area, and only if that is successful (no lower low), then one can expect a rise past the resistance at 20. Also, a steep initial rise to 20 makes the test of 13 more likely.

I assume from previous posts that you think there is no strong TA impediment for AMAT's price to rise past 20 on the first try, perhaps on to 27 or higher - all within a short time, lets say in 2002.

Is this a fair representation ?

Brian, are you taking notes ? Don't bother. In my opinion, even if what I am expecting actually occurs in every detail, it will be strictly by chance. In the sense that many different out-of-the-blue external events could derail any scenario. It's just that we have to place our bets one way or another. Either that, or walk away from the market entirely.
