I'm not surprised, since I understand you to be a relatively pure relativist, that you use the term meaning that way -- that there is no permanent meaning, only momentary meanings that can change 180 degrees literally overnight on the basis of just one person changing their mind about how they apply the Constitution to a set of circumstances.

I prefer to believe that there is some fundamental meaning to the Constitution that is its true meaning even if five judges of the Supreme Court at a certain point in history don't agree that that is its meaning.
