You should not be that hard on the editor - Ostdeutschland sounds like eastern coast US to Germans. That there's differences, no one denies and everybody tries (or at least pays to) get over with. >>DJ, this is going to be an opportunity for the German government milk the citizens<< The deficit is creeping up from 2% but it is not so far that you could talk about milking. Look: the major part of the budget is social services (unemployment benefits, old age pensions etc). You cant do much there except if by some magic divine intervention everybody is 20 years younger and everybody has a job. And there were no floods. dj
