Plenty of the disposessed got jobs working in factories and mills, so overall prosperity increased.
Yes they did, 'plenty' did. Now those jobs are / have faded and services were big and will they last ?

Looks like a domino game to me ;o)

I still think more productivity (inevitable) = less employment at least quality employment (also inevitable).
We'll be replacing more ladies with computer skills soon by more efficient software.
