I was thinking as I read that post from the Asian Times, and continue to read articles showing how the other Arab Countries are now looking for ways to appease us, that 9/11 changed everything!

Ah, so now that Russia's role versus Saudi Arabia in the Eurasia / Eastasia enemy / ally switch on Iraq is in question, Iraq itself is the new savior? I wouldn't even mind that if any of the neocons had the honesty of Jim Baker to just come out and say that.

Of course, before this Afghanistan was somehow supposed to be about oil too.
