Now we know why the media has backed off of the Enron scam.

You're exactly right and the story explains a lot. The liberals were all set to make hay out of Enron, then it turns out THEY'RE the culpable parties!

It was predictable, though. Liberalism and corruption make very good partners.

Enron's Democrat Pals

Documents obtained by TIME show the energy giant enjoyed much closer ties with Clinton Administration regulators than was generally known

Steve, first, at the time of the Clinton administration, ENE was well loved by everywhere and no one knew the books were cooked. Therefore, its not surprising that the administration did all it could to drum up business for the company. They did it for other businesses as well, notably Boeing in China. After all, its always been said what's good for American businesses is good for Americans. As a Rep., I would think you would agree with such a philosophy, don't you?

Secondly, the nature of the relationship was purely business, not social. Mr. Bush had a business and social relationship with several executives of ENE.

Thirdly, the issue is not even who was close to ENE and who was not pre scandal. The issue on the table is why did the Bush administration take so long to come down on ENE's and other corporate execs? After all, while most corporations give to both parties, we know who gets the most $$$, don't we?
