The premise here is NOT that bubbles retrace to their trendlines; the premise is that bubbles retrace to the PRICES from whence they began.

you better add the word "extreme" in there......

those who survived all the way to the end 1931 got wiped out in 32 by the word "extreme" bottom as the dow wiped out the bubble start and much lower.....

guys like gene who think 1000 is the bottom will enter the killing field clown long and will feel the true meaning of the word "extreme bottom"......and will repeat the mistakes of the survivors in 31 who learned the hard way in 32...

Bubbles typically give it all back and them some do they not?

I think this one is satisfied just to give it back.

But who knows.
