Critics of the regime disappear in the middle of the night and are never seen again. Intellectuals tortured, imprisoned, executed. Those on top monopolize the economy and hand out monopolies to their buddies. Contributions from outside wind up in Swiss bank accounts. As Orwell said, the future is a boot smashing a face forever. I call it thugocracy. Ironically, in Iran, the medical examiner keeps track of people who were hanged or shot, and of unidentified dead bodies. That's the beauty of bureaucracy. >>The Islamic republic's Legal Medical Department has reported, yesterday, the number of deaths which have occurred in the City of Tehran for the 1st quarter of the current Iranian year which has started on March 20th. Based on this statement, the deaths of only 7 (SEVEN), from a total of 14,970 Tehrani residents who have died and buried during this period, were due to natural causes and the deaths of 740 other were due to their old age. Other causes, such as, Bad Nutrition, Aids, Freezing, Cholera, Heart Failure and Cancer have been mentionned for the major part of the announced number of deaths. But, the astonishing part of the statement is that 44 Tehrani residents have died, during the same period, "due to Hanging" and 27 other "due to Bullet shots". This partial but official confession is confirming the rumors about the number of deaths during the latest rallies and rebellion’s actions against the regime forces. The new official statement is the 2nd of its kind which has been revealed during the last 6 months and shows, partially, the evil and repressive nature of the Islamic republic regime. As the head of the same department had announced, at the occasion of the last Iranian year's ending, that over 6500 "un-identified" bodies were buried during last year's alone.<<iran-daneshjoo.org
