If I remember correctly, the Treasury in the late 90's stopped issuing 30 year bonds. This may have been a major reason that long term rates continued to drop, while short term rates were going up in 2000.

You cannot reason with the folks TP. The world is full of tension and the markets have tanked and economies globally are sinking all thanks to Bush and Co and these idiots don't have a clue. BTW the deficit was 29 billion in July, hmmmmmmm that's an annualized 168 billion and bet yurass it will be bigger next month
