Re: 2.5 GHz Tbred doesn't exist right now

But it does seem to be shaping up as 2.5ghz Athlon vs. 3ghz P4, and a 2.5ghz Athlon is faster than a 3ghz P4.

And Athlon is AMD's celeron, for Q1.

What does Intel have to compete with hammer? Banias at 1.6ghz with the performance of a 2.5ghz P4?

Dell refused to market Itanium, and Compaq, for the first time ever, has dared to include an Athlon system in its business line of managed PCs.

Intel is losing its market position edge, which may be more important than the loss of its performance edge (which past experience has shown doesn't really matter much).
