By the way, the Nizam of Hyderabad was alleged to have regularly ingested gold dust, silver dust and powdered pearls as an aphrodisiac. If gold dust could be ingested with impunity, why not paper-thin gold foil, too? After all, gold is so very inert. In goes gold, out comes gold.
One might suspect that the high usage of gold in India might be attributable, in part, to habitual ingestion of gold by the rich and the mighty ones. {Sometimes one wonders why the population of India is so high (~1 billion), second only to China's (~1.25 billion!!!)}

And that prompted someone to suggest, a few years ago, to the illustrious above-ground scavenger for gold to move to India for easy pickings!
