on pension added funding, I believe it's about workforce age, age of the company, and thus size of the trust fund
the older the company, the less likely 401k plans are

Genl Motors has a huge pension clientele
my guess is the bigger the value of the trust, the more unfunded it is

dunno specifically about any other companies
GM is the only one to reveal actual details
but another guy wrote an article on GoldEagle outlining details regarding the entire S&P500
he also included in his analysis the expensing of stock options
he factored in the Black-Scholes option pricing model
(which is something apparently that Intel dont comprehend!)

he went on to conclude that with if both options and pensions were properly handled, then y2001 S&P earnings per share were exactly zero
