thecow, re 6 USB ports: I would just try a USB device on the ports in the keyboard. I doubt it can cause any damage to the PC.

I was just looking at the desc. for an HP at UBID.
They show a keyboard port, mouse port, parallel, serial and then 6 USB and state that two of them are on the keyboard. Heh.. normaly the KB and mouse would use PS2 type plugs.. but that wouldn't allow a USB to work on the keyboard..
I'd bet tho.. that it's a USB keyboard and it's like a USB hub with two connectors.. use for a mouse, camera, scanner, printer..memory card reader.. anything.. just like the 1 or 2 on the front of lots of current model computers..

I figured out I couldn't plug the keyboard into itself so it has to go into the box. There are 2 in back, two in front of the box and 2 in back side(not bottom)of the keyboard. I am going to try to connect my zip to the keyboard and my mouse as the box is a little far away for the length of the mouse cable and the zip will be convenient. Will let you know if it will work.
