The neckline on the S&P H&S is pretty horizontal, and we came within decimal points of touching it today.

I believe the typical formation would be breached at the neckline initially, and then a pull-up to touch or test the neckline normally follows.

On a slanted H&S the neckline is rising, so you would rise above the place which was the initial neckline breach. However, on a straight across H&S like the S&P, I believe a rise to the straight neckline ought to suffice for the test of the neckline.
