I spend a lot of time in England and bought what I regarded as a throw-away three years ago for about $40. Have bought a couple top-up cards since then and am pleased with the arrangement. Operators no longer push this sort of deal, but it still comes about when some phone is in surplus. With everyone seemingly happy with this sort of deal or some other subscription, I have no idea how any new kid on the block can expect to find a market for millions more cell phone.

Re : Disposable phones / Hop on Pop -- the people at Hop on Pop have already established themselves as liars and cheats (see the thing that was posted by me (and someone else, also) previously).

(I'll try to find it in a minute).

Latest lie from Hop on Pop (from your post) :

"We shall use what we learned from launching our product in the US to releasing it in the UK."

Huh ?

What launch in the U.S. ?

Jon.
