Oddly, Americans are far more concerned about the threat China poses to Taiwan than the Taiwanese are. There are people in the US who just have to have a threat to wave; once Russia was gone it had to be China. At least now we have the Islamic world to preoccupy us; maybe that will take over the status of official bad guy. That might allow a shred of rationality to enter the China debate, which would be a pleasant thing for those of us who live in Asia.
