Nope, it isn't okay for me to get a mortgage.. I hated it the first time 35 years ago, as a green, young, new wife and I still hate it. Single family dwellings are just about the poorest use for money I can think of. Ditto investing in farmland. And paying for it an avg of 4 times by the time a 30 year fixed rate mortgage is paid off is a terrible ROR. Bet you didn't think I'd say that, huh!!!!!!????????!!!!!! Paid cash for my current residence, and don't sweat the mortgage game. And I NEVER will again. As I said before: NEVER A BORROWER NOR A LENDER BE---that's my motto.
