Actually, your comment prompted my question....After all, we WERE attacked on Sept 11, 2001.

Oh, definitely, and there is no doubt what the source of the attack was, Al Qaeda. A great deal of the debate here is whether there was evidence of links between Saddam and Al Qaeda in the planning and/or execution of that attack. None has appeared to date.

So, conclusion, while we were attacked, best evidence is that Saddam did not attack us. And it's likely that attacking Saddam only makes the pursuit of Al Qaeda a great deal more difficult.
