How is singling out the word "profiteers" responsive? Just what is your point? Mine was that there was nothing unAmerican about being against the Vietnam War. You seem to think there was. What I see is boys were drafted to fight a useless no-win war. Vietnam vets I know believe that war was a mistake. I'm certain you were relieved to be over draftable age. I would bet more liberals served in Vietnam while more conservatives claimed conscientious objector or fled to Canada or went AWOL months at time while in the Reserves.

by profiteers. I don't know why this line is used so much by people who protest wars. Business's make a profit off of selling things to the Defense Department. I have seen no evidence that they were responsible for starting WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, etc. I guess "War Profiteers" is just a standard, throw-in, line that people use if they are against a war and they are "Liberal." Profiting from wars and starting wars are two quite different things. It's much too blanket a statement to say that "business profits from wars." But it's definitely not too much to say that some businesses profit too much from wars. We could go through the lists but, surprisingly, we might agree on several of the companies that belong there. Of course, "libertarians" might not see that. ;-)
