LOL Kirk,

Thanks for the diploma but I still can't name all the states that have no state income tax. I never had much of a memory for worthless trivia though.

You make a good point that the show has been reduced to the lowest common denominator. That's usually the point where I decide to move on. Clearly, Bob still has a lot of educating that he can do. Like recently it was informative to hear about the relationship between bond yield and NAV on the GNMA's which I had not stopped to think about before.

But if I have to listen to one more old timer argue about high yield corporate bonds to Brinker, I'm gonna hurl.

I think you should send the final exam, with attachments, to the programming execs at CNBC. On the other hand, that may just prompt them to have smarter call screeners.

On the other hand, is anyone sure that Boob is going to take questions on air or is he just going to pontificate?

Kirk: re:("I think Bob has evolved where he now pretty much knows nobody can time the market worth a damn")

What evidence convinced you of this?

RE: ("Brinker's show, without market timing, is actually quite good")

Didn't he tell a caller recently that he would share his market buy signal with the radio audience after subscribers are notified? What's to time until we get to that point?

Kirk, do you think it is wise to be married to one single strategy (ie. "buy-and-hold") given that the character of the market and the environment that is background to the market is constantly changing? With an inflexible approach like this, you may end up singing the song at the below link:

BTW: Did you see where Bob is premiering on CNBC-TV Cable September 2 at 7pm EDT with a CNBC Moneytalk Program? Not clear how long the show is or how often it is on. Do you have any information on these details?
