Nobody loves a superpower. But if we provide a Pax Americana, everyone will complain but cooperate, because it is in their own interest to do so.

Oh, sure, everybody hates us. That's why they risk their lives to sneak in over the border, walking across deserts, or holed up in shipping containers.

Before you know it, the population of the earth will be seven billion. If we don't help people living in the Third World clean up their shithole countries, things are just going to get worse.
