Once again, you see what you want to see.

I saw what happened in 10 years of heavy activity at fundraising for Raptors. I saw people who did not give to anything. (Their excuse was usually that "The Government should take care of it.") I saw people who gave to a lot of causes, a few causes, only to "Homo Sapien" causes, and those that only gave to animal causes. So when I posted that there are people out there who will give to "Save the Whale", but would not "give a starving kid a sandwich", This was personal experience. As I said, people pursue their own happiness, not your pre-conceived idea of what they should do.

From what you have said so far, I assume that you are speaking from your emotional reaction to the question, with no experience to back it up.
