Perhaps if we had a change in the double taxation of dividends... Until then, MSFT, DELL and others will just buy back stock if they don't have a good place to reinvest their income - it's better for their shareholders.

are you aware that more and more, people want stocks that have businesses behind them that pay dividends regularly and faithfully, not to mention, actually make money...

Cisco makes a TON of money in GAAP earnings. But anyway, as a cisco investor I am 1)not interested in dividends of any kind, and 2)more intested in cash flow than gaap earnings.
