I have not been following the paper, so I have no idea what has ensued. I do know that the quotes from the original were accurate, and show support for preemptive action........

Liesure travel is slowly grinding to a halt.

usatoday.com

"US Airways declared bankruptcy and United is likely to soon follow," said Gordon Bethune, chairman and chief executive of Continental. "American is eliminating 7,000 jobs. While we remain committed to running a clean, safe and reliable operation, we need to do some aggressive belt tightening so we don't end up like them."

Bethune said more changes would come "unless market conditions improve quickly."

This is the result of Junior using the rhetoric of war while engagued in an international police action. The rhetoric does not help find the criminals, but it does destroy consumer confidence and is absolutely devastating to tourism and other low fare travel activities. If Junior has any intention of turning this economy around he'll curb his ambitions to right his daddy's mistakes, send a sizable army into Pakistan, and reduce Al Qeida to a couple of hiding misfits. Time to substitute results for rhetoric.
