"Put/Call Ratio Reads Bulls as Weeping

I have been mentioning Merrill Lynch's internal put/call ratio over the last several weeks as an excellent gauge of investor sentiment. The ratio peaked near the bottom of the equity market several weeks ago above 2.0.

As discussed in an earlier posting, the rise in bullishness is somewhat disturbing, especially given the sharp market advances. Toward that end, Monday's ratio at Merrill Lynch stood at a lowly .50!

Long MER."
