What you say works, CB, if we were talking about, as you say, the standard yada yada. But anytime one of the partners is, when brought into the deal, the son of the president of the US, and when topped out of the deal, at least as I understand it at the moment, the sitting governor of the state, it ain't no standard yada yada.

It's the first that brought him into the deal because that's all he could bring--no money, no competence in sports management, nada. In the second, as governor, any major sports activity in the state of Texas can always benefit by having a friend in the governor's office. Thus, the exchange of large amounts of money (maybe jallen would not consider $12 million large;-); I certainly would) are suspicious on the face of it.
