Ah. I think there's a problem: stockcharts.com THAT says 30-years rose all through Slick's watch (except for a small decline in the last hald of '93 and all of '94, in contradiction to what you've said) until late '98 when they declined sharply, probably because the death of the 30-year had been announced. They started rising at the end of '99 and have continued to do so. Bush did not have the nomination when the rise started and did not become President until more than a year later. Try again.
