I thought Krugman was an Economist?? As you read a little further, you will see me correcting myself. I sort of mind locked on writing a response to the notion that he should be considered an "objective" journalist and just popped back an answer about his columnist role. If you missed my comment about his role as an economist, you didn't miss much. He's, as you may know, highly respected in that field, and if he gets his economics wrong, that's a very big deal.
