I think you misunderstood the point I was trying to make. It was not entrepeneurial in the sense of making as much money as possible; it was entrepeneurial activity as a form of working on one's own, taking risk on one's own. The metaphor gets a bit squishy when you note the university structure in which it exists.

It's just that quite a few faculty exist in that much as free professionals. I use the term entrepeneurial on this thread as a sort of provocative bit.
