Herschel,

No rocket science is needed to "predict" a small downturn in DELL's stock price after last week earnings run up, but I think a new higher level of fluctuation will be established based on their earnings and outlook for next Q...so 22.50 is not very valid. Dell up a fraction now, and no analysts downgrades.

Analysts comment on Dell's plan to sell to resellers (DELL) By Tomi Kilgore
Analyst Joel Wagonfeld at Banc of America believes Dell Computer's (DELL) plan to sell unbranded desktop PCs to resellers stems from the company's need to find new areas to grow into its current stock valuation. Wagonfeld believes gross margins could take a small hit in the near term from the new strategy, but thinks it will improve overall margins in the longer term. First Albany's Walter Winnitzki feels the change in strategy will help the PC maker expand its overall growth prospects. Winnitzki also thinks, however, that Dell's move "underscores a recognition of the slower secular growth prospects in the PC market." Meanwhile, Dell is tacking on 30 cents to $28 in pre-open trading.
