I remember those entertaining shows when Bob would discuss price action in the market and put it in a historical context. Like the fact that the DJIA had it's last visit to the area of the benchmark high in May 2001 shortly before the tragic events in September. Nontheless, I'm one who believes that the market dive was inevitable regardless of exogenous events which probably served to accelerate and exacerbate the market moves. But the trend was already well underway.

It's a sad legacy that Bob now considers these topics too risky to touch. For me, it renders his program mundane and common. The show has been relegated mainly to discussion of financial planning and on-air quotes of mutual fund prices where Bob usually gets to plug his favorite sponsor.
