Niceguy, Re : "Heck dare I say AMD at $30 by Jan expiry???"

Naahh. get back to earth, b'day boy. Something dramatic will need to happen to AMD even get to 20 by jan 03. And avoiding severe losses for next few quarters is the best they can hope for.

BTW, happy birthday.

Maui.

<Much hope remains for those Jan 20's.><edited>
A lot depends on
1)whether Hammer arrives October 1 or December 31,
2)retail sales this Christmas - I don't expect business demand to pick up until 2003

Don't double up on the Jan 20's, buy Jan 12.5's instead. The doom and gloom attitude may return after Q3 earnings report because AMD will probably still lose another 1% of market share because of negative momentum. But if we see retail product availability for the 2400+ and 2600+ early in September, rather than later in September, then I'd revise that forecast.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY - enjoy your day and many more to come!
PS - you said you had a lot of kids. I hope they all show up today. Do you have any grandkids yet?
