Too bad we ripped up a budding democracy in Iran in 1953, that could have been the bulkhead of Middle-eastern democracy, and installed and supported the brutal Shah so we could rape their oil supplies. Despite the constant propaganda and rhetoric about the U.S. being pro-democracy, history demonstrates that the U.S. is not always interested in promoting democracy (Guatemala, Chile, Greece, etc.)

This time it won't be as cut and dried but I also think there is some intelligence in the wings that will change a lot of minds when it's presented.

If the US can withstand the Bush Administration desire to oppress freedom and democracy around the world, history will write how the US overcame the greatest test of the Democracy in our history
