I seem to recall that some decades back, spouses couldn't testify against each other in court.

I think what you recall is that you couldn't be forced to testify against a spouse.

LL, I seriously doubt that bill and hilly have slept in the same bed for many years. IMO she stayed married to him for one reason only...power and the prestige and influence that he brought her.
