Well you're forgetting about Q4 of last year. Demand was high, Intel was sold out because of the large Willamette die and AMD couldn't make more than a fraction of the potential output of Fab30. In short, AMD's yields crashed and they couldn't deliver.

I don't think you are correct about the shortage. I recall about 1 story about shortage of AMD parts (low speed at that) and about 5 stories about Willamette shortages, but neither one was real, just temporary dislocations.

It is now about 2 years from the beginning of warnings, missed targets, demand not materializing. The stock prices reacted accordingly:

Anyway, I think this is turning out to be an obsession of yours, and I am truly waiting for the time it can be put to test, which is, a day when AMD has demand for its products that exceeds AMD's ability to supply.
