The UP button reads: Squeeze program one

With so much at stake, every dollar, whether real or borrowed, invested by the big players is probably expected to heap much greater future returns. They have no choice at this juncture but to prop up the market to lend the appearance that all is well.
If confidence cannot be restored, an entire industry and financial system and more could be irreparably harmed.
But as you said, this house of cards could come tumbling down in a heartbeat with one event.
I think the big players acted too soon. They needed to allow the DOW to trade lower for much longer than they did.
They panicked a few weeks ago and stepped in too soon
Now the foundation of this false rally is even weaker.
And the mistrust is greater than ever as all but the most novice investor questions just what or whom is driving this market higher.
