If it's true that smart money buys the final hour, then smart money has been making gobs since July 24th, as most final hours have been up (like today or, oh, just flashback). It's all well and good to rationalize low volume and to identify chop (and we've got chop) and all that, but anyone who has been long is making money, and those shorting or in any way actively pursuing a broad bearish bias have been losing money.

Simply put -- the trend has been UP since August 5 in tech and since July 24 in non-tech. No amount of rationalization or dismissal of volume will change that. Will the trend change? Sure. But telling it it should change now has been ineffective <g>
