Hi Karen,

Thanks for the link and the information. I take all news concerning a possible connection between Iraq and al-Qaida very seriously. My reasons are simple. If the Bush administration can demonstrate complicity between Iraq and al-Qaida, this relationship would constitute a legitimate reason to pre-emptively strike Iraq, in my humble opinion. Such actions would be consistent with the mandate his administration proposed to our nation and the world following the events of 9/11. But such evidence does not exist.

I have addressed the article which you have brought up and given my opinion on why it is nothing but old news. There is no definitive proof in that story to tie Saddam to al-Qaida. Here are my thoughts:

Karen, how about Abu Nidal having found safe harbour in Iraq? Do you think that was untrue too?

As he [and Saddam's sons-in-law] found out, 'safe harbour' in Iraq is a typical desert mirage.

If there's one international terrorist in Iraq, there'll be more. By the way, where does the support for the Chechen Moslem Head-Hackers come from? Iran I suppose, but Iraq and Iran work together - Iran harbouring Iraq's aircraft during the 1991 war for example.
