Maybe the rumors of sub 62 Watt Max power consumption are correct.

The great thing is that this sounds a lot more realistic now (keep in mind that Hammer will have both SOI and a longer pipeline which should also boost clock-speed). At 2.4 GHz a 3400+ rating for the Hammer would probably be very conservative. If AMD can deliver it in early Q1 '03 Intel won't be able to respond IMO. I hope the Dresden insider from the German board is right that first Hammer production will commence in September...
